I have always loved garters and harnesses but have been disappointed time and time again by products that either didn't fit well or fell apart. One day, after finding myself frustrated for the millionth time by a garter purchase, I decided to try making my own. I had never used a sewing machine before, but after a bit of experimenting and practice, it started to come naturally and I thought 'Maybe I can do this!'.

I knew I wanted my garters and harnesses to be made with quality elastic that I could work easily with and that would make for a product both stretchy and durable. Fortunately, I happened to find the perfect material in a local company and decided to give it a try. After some trial and error, I had my first pair of garters and when I put them on, much to my amazement, they stayed up! Not just that but they didn't move either. No matter how hard I tried, this elastic just locked onto my legs! I knew I had something special in this, so I told myself "I bet there are other people like me out there tired of wasting money on products that don't work. If I can come up with five different styles of garters, I'll start a business." I didn't just make my goal of five styles, because my brain went into overdrive and came up with fifty!

It seemed an obvious choice to make our products size-inclusive since so many products out there fail to truly be for every body. And after seeing how the markets target size-inclusivity, and their prices increase as the size goes up, I refused to follow this trend. At Mischief Makers, the price does not increase with size. I want everyone to be able to wear my garters, and plus-sized individuals shouldn't have to pay more for the privilege.

After a year and a half of selling garters, I knew it was time to expand into my next love. Body harnesses. I had to figure out how I could offer full-body harnesses that would easily fit everyone's unique body types since everyone is different. So, instead of one full piece that may or may not fit an individual well, I decided to divide the chest, midsection, and leg harnesses and offer connecting straps to attach them. The connecting straps not only allow the wearer to bring the pieces together but also provide the additional benefit of creating different looks using the same harness. That way, no matter what, everyone who bought something from me would get a harness that is just as unique as they are in a size that fits each section of their body perfectly.

The company started in 2021. Since that time, I have heard nothing but positivity from my customers and had people from all backgrounds and walks of life fall in love with garters again (and find a new love in body harnesses). My very first customers are still wearing my products to this day and tell me that they still work as well as the first time they put them on. I feel honored that I get to help people feel sexy and gain confidence in themselves and their bodies. If I could spend the rest of my life making people feel better about themselves, I would consider my life well lived.
